Through trading, Path of Exile 2 transforms from a single-player game into a vibrant ARPG with a player-driven economy and all of its perks.
In POE 2, you have two options for trading items:
- Choose "Trade" when you right-click on other players in secure locations, such the Clearfell Encampment. You can then submit items to trade and see what they have to give in exchange if they approve your trade request. The deal will proceed if both players agree to it.
- Explore the Trading Site, where users can use Direct Whispers to arrange transactions and submit or search for items.
It's crucial to keep in mind that players can only exchange products that expressly show up in your inventory and occupy space—not Gold. Although whatever you purchase from a merchant is obviously fair game to trade (and the person you give it to can later sell it for a reduced profit), gold is only available during interactions with NPCs.
How to Buy Items From PoE 2 Trade Site
- Use the filters to find the item you’re looking to buy.
- Click on Copy Whisper and an auto-generated message including the seller’s @handle will be copied to clipboard.
- Paste the message into the in-game chat, and a whisper will be sent to the seller.
- Right-click the seller’s name and click ‘Invite to Party.’
- Once you’re in the party, right-click their avatar and select ‘Visit Hideout’ or teleport to their location by clicking the circle inside their party portrait.
- Send a trade invite.
- Deposit the agreed-upon price in your section, and hover over the items the seller puts in their section to confirm their authenticity.
- Click ‘Accept’ and the trade will be complete.
How to Sell Items on PoE 2 Trade Site
- Simply purchase a Premium Stash from the Microtransaction shop and put the item you wish to sell inside of it to sell it on the official Path of Exile 2 trade site. For this tab, select a name and color, then select "Public."
- The PoE 2 trade site will automatically display all things put inside this tab as being for sale. You can choose the cost of each item separately or in large quantities. In-game, prospective purchasers will now whisper to you.
Even with a Premium Stash Tab, players are unable to sell stuff for sale in public until they have a level 25 character on their account. This does not stop a player from purchasing goods from a vendor even though they are not eligible to list them for sale.
