The Witch triumphantly returns to the area she once subjugated, accompanied by her faithful Minions. Armed with an army of minions and occult incantations, she is now ready to destroy all in her way. Build an army of minions with your Spirit, or use your Chaos and Bone Skills to go straight at enemies. Then, to weaken adversaries and make eliminating hazardous bosses simpler, curse them.

Infernalist
Become an Infernalist by using infernal powers. You receive a devoted Hellhound that defends you by taking some of your damage and attacks your adversaries. Additionally, you can add hellfire to your mana, which will cause fiery explosions when you enter Mana Overload. Or take the plunge and transform into Demon Form. How long will you last in Demon Form if you accept damage that increases gradually in return for ever-increasing cast speed and damage bonuses?
Blood Mage
The Witch can also become a Bloodmage, which is another ascendancy option. This comes with a high price: in addition to the standard mana cost for all your skills, you also have to pay a life cost. You can leach damage from your spells, earn extra life based on certain of your Energy Shield gear, and use Life Remnants—a new kind of healing that you get by killing enemies—in return. Bloodmages get a critical strike bonus of 1% per 20 maximum life, allowing them to invest in life for damage as well.
