The Witch can also become a Bloodmage, which is another ascendancy option. This comes with a high price: in addition to the standard mana cost for all your skills, you also have to pay a life cost.
The Witch will be class specializing in occult magic, using skills that summon an undead army or deal chaos damage with poisons and contagion.
