The voyage to the Aberration

Seven stops, in order. Each one opens the next.

0 of 7 done in game.

  1. Stop 1

    Kalguuran Expeditions

Found in maps, and in the campaign from Act 4. Chain explosives to unearth chests and monsters.

  2. Stop 2

    Logbooks

Runic Monsters drop Logbooks. Each one opens a Grand Expedition: a stretch of ocean with islands to sail between.

  3. Stop 3

    Medved, the Fallen Seer

The first faction leader, waiting in his cracked tomb.

  4. Stop 4

    Vorana, Last to Fall

The second. Guides place her around Tier 11 Waystones.

  5. Stop 5

    Uhtred, the Stardrinker

The third. He drops Olroth's Logbook.

  6. Stop 6

    Olroth, Origin of the Fall

The fourth, at area level 79 and up. He can drop the Shattered Triskelion, but not every time.

  7. Stop 7

    The Aberration

Reforge the Triskelion with Makoru at the Verisium Anvil, then slot it in the Verisium Crater.

Now part of the Atlas

Since 0.5.5, Expedition is a core Atlas mechanic in Standard and Forbidden Rites. You also meet Expeditions in the campaign from Act 4 onwards.

From GGG's 0.5.5 patch notes. It may change again at 1.0.

The Verisium Anvil

The Anvil now unlocks when you complete The Runeseeker quest in Act 4. After that, you can place Farrow in your hideout in any league.

Its own Atlas tree

Added in 0.5.4. You earn its points by defeating the Grand Expedition faction leaders.

Expedition Tablets

The more Expedition Tablets affect a map, the more Expedition it gets.

  • 1 tablet: a Kalguuran Expedition in the map.
  • 2 tablets: a Verisium Remnant, and 35% more Expedition density.
  • 3 tablets: one more Kalguuran Expedition.
  • 4 tablets: one more Verisium Remnant, and another 35% density.
  • Density means more chests, Monster Flags and Verisium Remnants.
