GGG’s post frames it as playing Wraeclast on the move or from the couch**, not a separate SKU or feature patch.
You still need an Early Access purchase on Steam today. GGG repeats the existing roadmap: free-to-play on December 11 (PST) with the class — same date as the 1.0 announcement.
What “Verified” does and doesn’t promise
- Verified is a Steam Deck / SteamOS compatibility badge reviewed by Valve — not a guarantee that every endgame scenario runs at a locked frame rate, and not a statement about Linux on arbitrary distros (community threads are already asking GGG to clarify how far beyond Deck they test).
- If you already play PoE 2 through Proton on Deck, this is official confirmation the title is in the “green check” tier on the store; performance will still depend on in-game settings, battery mode, and how heavy your build’s effects are in maps.
- Console-style controller support is part of what Valve tests; fine targeting and flask/charm layouts on a small screen are still a personal ergonomics question.
Forum chatter worth knowing
The announcement thread is mostly celebration, plus a few practical questions GGG hasn’t answered in the opening post: whether verification was checked against endgame content (not just campaign), and what bug reports from non-SteamOS Linux are useful. Treat those as open until GGG replies — we’re not inventing policy for them.
