No Atlas path on this strategy.

Prep · Set up

4 steps

Atlas · Find a Large Abyssal Ravine on your Atlas and run its maps. Every map along it has Abysses, and guides say the last one ends in an Abyssal boss. Off a Ravine, open layouts like these maps work well.
Atlas · Take the farming path up to Ghastly Relics. Since 0.5.5 it turns every Large Abyssal Chest from a Pit into an Abyssal Strongbox.
Hideout · Cap your elemental resistances and push chaos resistance up. Pit Rares hit hard, and Lichborn Rares bring faction tricks.
Map Device · Use a Waystone with 4 to 6 modifiers so the map has a tablet slot. Socket one Abyss Tablet; look for of Hollows, of Treasures or of Ossification.

Map · Run

3 steps

Map · Kill near the cracks to close them, then clear each Pit's wave to seal it. Don't run past cracks; every Pit you seal can leave a Trove or a Depths.
Abyssal Depths · Take a Depths if it opens and you feel safe. If you die inside you can't go back in, so skip it on a shaky run.
Map · Open the Abyssal Strongboxes and Troves. Since 0.5.5 Abyssal Strongboxes drop Abyssal Currency.

Extract · Loot

1 step

Hideout · Stash bones by type and tier, and keep Abyss Omens. Sell or keep spare Abyss Tablets.

Upgrade · Improve

1 step

Hideout / Atlas · Save any Kulemak's Invitation until your character can take the Vessel to full power. Then run the next map on the Ravine.
