Fate of the Vaal

Five stops, in order. The glowing one is the pinnacle.
0 of 5 done in game.

Vaal Beacons
Beacons appear in endgame maps near Lira Vaal. Kill the corrupted monsters guarding one to energise it.
- 2
Six energised Beacons
Six make one Temple run. You can bank up to 60 Energised Crystals.
- 3
The Temple
Each visit gives six Room Cards on a grid. Chain rooms together and upgrade them, up to Tier 4.
- 4
The Architect
Guards the Royal Access Chamber. He drops a lock medallion that opens a console of restricted rooms.
- 5
Atziri, the Red Queen
The pinnacle of the Temple. Her Vault drops Orbs of Sacrifice.

Inside the Temple
No more snakes
Since 0.5.0, a room that would be deleted but still has other connections turns into a plain Path room instead. The old trick of chaining rooms to stop them decaying no longer works.
Rooms upgrade to Tier 4 in the official patch notes. Some guides still say Tier 3.
The limb-replacement room
One room swaps a limb for a Vaal prosthetic: a strong passive bonus that lasts until your next death. Guides give the room different names, so look for it by what it does.
Corruption crafting
The Temple's crafting goes past where a Vaal Orb stops.
- Vaal Infusers feed the Architect's Orb. There are four: Armourer's, Blacksmith's, Arcanist's and Catalysing. Each needs a base with at least 20% quality.
- The Architect's Orb corrupts a corrupted item again. Half the time it gains a second corruption from a different group. The other half, the item is destroyed.
- The Orb of Sacrifice comes from Atziri's Vault. It upgrades a Corrupted Enchantment to a higher tier, and removes one random explicit modifier to pay for it.
