GGG's one-month ExileCon update is out. The livestream runs November 6 and 7 at 12 PM PST (3 PM ET), free on Twitch and YouTube, with the keynote at 1 PM PST (4 PM ET). In Auckland it is November 7–8, at the Aotea Centre.

This is GGG's third ExileCon and its 20th anniversary as a studio. It lands about five weeks before Path of Exile 2's 1.0 launch on December 11.

How to watch

  • When: Friday November 6 and Saturday November 7, 12 PM PST / 3 PM ET. US clocks fall back on November 1, so these are standard-time hours.
  • Keynote: 1 PM PST / 4 PM ET.
  • Where: twitch.tv/pathofexile and YouTube. Free, and GGG welcomes co-streams.
  • Twitch Drops: new Drops are confirmed for the event. GGG says details come "in the coming weeks."
  • Trailer: GGG's reminder includes a short video.

What is confirmed

  • Unannounced updates from game directors Jonathan Rogers and Mark Roberts.
  • Developer talks, from game design to engine work.
  • Demos of unreleased content.
  • Race finals for both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, on both days. Path of Exile 1: allexpleblord, imexile, MOSTPOSITIVEMAN, and Ben_. Path of Exile 2: Jiluo, Giuygiuyg, Jigglypuff, and Luxian.
  • Live podcasts with Path of Exile creators.

The full schedule and the streamer code of conduct are still not posted. GGG's only note on teasers is "soon." On October 6 they opened a very limited extra batch of tickets at pathofexile2.com/exilecon.

Cosplay and costume weapons

On October 8 GGG posted the cosplay and costume-weapon policy. Staff inspect every costume weapon before entry, tag the ones they allow, and can hold anything that fails the check until the end of the day.

  • Costume weapons have to be non-functional, lightweight, and a size that does not block other people. No metal, no sharp points, no live rounds, and nothing that can fire a projectile.
  • Replica guns are banned. Bows and crossbows cannot have a string that can shoot. Arrows need no head, or a soft blunt one.
  • Stilts are not allowed.
  • A large costume may not get a seat for the keynotes or the Sunday closing talks. GGG expects the theatre to be full for those.
  • Photos where you pose an "attack" are fine. Swinging a replica at another person is not, even if it is foam.

What we expect (not confirmed)

The arrives with 1.0, and GGG has shown swords, stances and parry. Its Ascendancies have not been shown. At the 0.5.5 reveal Jonathan said those mechanics stay art-only until ExileCon, and that the Blood/Sand theme matches Path of Exile 1 while the mechanics do not. The one-month update does not name them.
