The King in the Mists
Fought in the Crux of Nothingness, revealed with An Audience with the King. He drops the Head of the King, which begins the Rite of the Nameless.
He comes before the Rite, not at the end of it.
The Queen in the Mists
Optional. With the Mysterious Rites passive, 8% of Rituals are the Queen's Ritual: one altar summons her, and the Favour screens are bigger.
GGG says she can drop three corrupted Idols; the wiki says her Ritual offers them as Favours. Some guides say the King drops them. He doesn't.

Tribute and Favours
Ritual is a crafting farm in disguise.
- Every Favour is a Unique or an Omen. Buy them with Tribute from the monsters you kill twice.
- Reroll or defer. The wiki says one reroll by default, and deferring costs 15% for a 10% cheaper Favour later.
- Nothing is wasted. Leftover Tribute fills the bar toward An Audience with the King.
- Parties since 0.5.5. Each player earns their own Tribute and gets their own smaller list.

Begin the Rite
Bring the Head of the King to Aoife at Caer Tarth. That begins the Rite of the Nameless: one ritual that runs across a chain of maps instead of one.
Pick five connected maps
Choose five connected maps for the Rite; the Ongoing Chants passive makes it six. Each map after the first has extra modifiers that make it harder and its rewards better. The wiki says you can do them in any order.
- Foretold Bounty: That map adds a named item to your first Favour screen. Pick it when: You want a specific item. The cost: It doesn't help the rest of the Rite.
- Foretold Proliferation: Finishing that map adds a modifier to the other Rite maps. Pick it when: You want the whole chain richer. Do these first. The cost: The other maps get harder too.
Expect the bosses back
Each Rite map's last altar holds its map boss. Monsters from each ritual, the bosses among them, come back in the next map's ritual, so the circles get crowded and dangerous as the Rite goes on.
If it goes wrong: Some players rush each map's boss altar first so the bosses stack into later circles. It pays more, and it's how deaths happen.
Use the extra rerolls
The wiki says each Rite Ritual you finish gives you an extra reroll in every later Rite Ritual. By the last map you can reroll the Favour screen several times.
Collect the effigy pieces
Each Rite map's final altar gives one piece of the Bodach's key. Five maps, five pieces. Bring them back to the effigy in Caer Tarth.
Only one Rite can be active. The wiki says a new Head of the King wipes the old one, pieces and all.
