Grinding Gear Games posted a 31-second teaser for Path of Exile 2 version 1.0, Become the Darkness. Their line on it is “Everything has a price… even fate.” The footage is a coin, a dagger thrown at that coin, and shadow moving over the blade. The clip does not say a class name. The read is the Shadow. GGG says the 1.0 details are November 6 at 12:30 PM PST on Twitch.
What the teaser is
- A short 1.0 teaser, not a class trailer. No attributes, weapon identity, skills, or Ascendancies.
- GGG’s own description: find out everything about the 1.0 full release on November 6 at 12:30 PM PST / 3:30 PM ET. The rest of the weekend — both days, the keynote, the race finals — is in how to watch ExileCon.
- Path of Exile 2 still leaves Early Access and goes free-to-play on December 11, 2026 (PST).
What is already on the roster
Eight base classes are playable now. GGG’s long-stated target is twelve. The is the one new class already named for 1.0, with swords, stances, and parry shown and Ascendancies still unshown. The Shadow has been on that remaining list with the Marauder and the Templar. This teaser is the first footage aimed at the Shadow. It does not say the Shadow ships on December 11.
PoE 1’s Shadow was Dexterity and Intelligence, built around daggers, traps, and critical strikes. That is the old class, not this kit. A familiar name can come back with different mechanics. Assassin, Saboteur, and Trickster are not announced.
What ExileCon has to show
- Whether GGG says the name Shadow on stage.
- Whether the dagger in the teaser is the class weapon, or a shot in the trailer.
- Ascendancies, if any are ready. The Duelist’s are still unshown.
- Whether the Shadow is in the December 11 launch, or a later reveal of a class that is coming to the game.
