Pathfinder: Full Ascendancy Breakdown

A deep dive into every notable on the Pathfinder Ascendancy — flask uptime, poison stacking, and the five Concoction skills.

Identity

Pathfinder is Ranger's flask-and-poison Ascendancy: it stacks Life/Mana flask uptime and effect duration, layers in a strong Evasion-to-Elemental-Damage-reduction conversion, and unlocks five Concoction skills that consume flask charges instead of a normal skill cost — turning your flasks into an entire secondary damage kit rather than just a sustain tool.

Notables

  • Overwhelming Toxicity — Doubles the number of your Poisons a target can be affected by at once, at the cost of 35% less Poison Duration.
  • Enduring Elixirs — Life Flask effects aren't removed when your unreserved Life fills back up, and Life Flask effects don't queue behind each other.
  • Sustainable Practices — 50% of your Evasion Rating also grants Elemental Damage reduction. (Buffed from 30% in patch 0.3.0 — some older guides still show the pre-buff figure.)
  • Running Assault — 50% less movement-speed penalty from using skills while moving, and you cannot be Heavy Stunned while sprinting.
  • Relentless Pursuit — Your movement speed is unaffected by Slows.
  • Path Seeker — Choose either "Path of the Warrior" or "Path of the Sorceress," letting you allocate passives from that class's starting area, and grants 4 regular Passive Skill Points (not Atlas passive points).
  • Traveller's Wisdom (requires Path Seeker) — Attribute Passive Skills offer additional options: 5% increased Damage, 5% increased Global Defences, or 5% increased Cost Efficiency. (Reworked in patch 0.4.0 — the pre-0.4.0 version simply granted 5 flat Passive Skill Points; some older guides still describe that version.)
  • Brew Concoction — Grants five Concoction skills, each consuming a Flask charge instead of a normal skill cost:
  • Acidic Concoction — Enemies lose Life equal to 150% of the expected remaining damage of the Poison it consumes, with 30% more Area of Effect per Poison already affecting the enemy. Cannot itself apply Poison.
  • Fulminating Concoction — 200% more chance to Shock, and 50% more Magnitude of Shock inflicted.
  • Shattering Concoction — Cold-damage skill that inflicts Exposure on Hit and Freezes enemies already Primed for Freeze. *(Current tooltip data from one source only — not yet independently cross-checked; treat as provisional.)*
  • Explosive Concoction — Fire-damage skill inflicting 100% more Flammability Magnitude, with secondary mini-explosions that can hit up to 4 already-Ignited enemies. *(Current tooltip data from one source only — not yet independently cross-checked; treat as provisional.)*
  • Bleeding Concoction — Physical-damage skill that Aggravates Bleeding on Hit, with a small area-of-effect explosion. *(Current tooltip data from one source only — not yet independently cross-checked; treat as provisional.)*

Keystone

Pathfinder has no keystone-tier node of its own.

Practical notes

  • Sustainable Practices means your Evasion Rating is quietly doing double duty as elemental mitigation — worth weighing against Armour-based defenses when comparing gear.
  • Path Seeker's class choice (Warrior or Sorceress) is a real fork: it decides which starting-area passives Traveller's Wisdom's attribute-option bonuses end up interacting with, so it's worth picking based on your actual build direction rather than defaulting to one.
  • Of the five Concoction skills, Acidic and Fulminating are the two with fully cross-checked numbers right now — if you're planning a Concoction-focused build around Shattering, Explosive, or Bleeding specifically, verify their exact numbers in-game before committing, since this page's figures for those three are still single-sourced.
