Spirit Walker: Full Ascendancy Breakdown

A deep dive into every notable on the Spirit Walker Ascendancy — Stag/Owl/Bear companion mechanics, Vivid Wisps and Primal Owl Feathers as movement-and-dodge-fed resources, and Idolatry's Idol-equipment scaling.

Spirit Walker

Identity

Spirit Walker is Huntress's companion Ascendancy, added in patch 0.5.0: it builds around three animal spirits — a Stag fed by movement (Vivid Wisps), an Owl fed by time and spent on Dodge Roll (Primal Owl Feathers), and a Bear summoned outright as a standing Companion — with Idolatry rewarding a Companion-and-Idol-heavy equipment loadout on top.

Notables

Small passives

  • +10 to Spirit
  • Companions deal 10% increased Damage, and you deal 10% increased Damage while your Companion is in your Presence (this two-clause passive appears twice on the tree; taking both stacks the bonus)
  • 2% increased Movement Speed (this passive appears twice on the tree; taking both stacks the bonus)
  • 12% increased Critical Hit Chance (this passive appears twice on the tree; taking both stacks the bonus)
  • Companions have 10% increased Area of Effect and 15% increased maximum Life (two-clause passive, appears once)

Keystone

Spirit Walker has no keystone-tier node of its own — Sacred Unity functions like a capstone (a free-feeling payoff once you've invested in the Stag, Owl, and Bear branches) but is categorized as a normal notable on the tree, not a keystone.

Practical notes

  • Vivid Stampede and Primal Bounty are on independent resource loops — one triggers off distance moved, the other off time passed plus Dodge Rolling — so a build can lean into either branch alone without needing the other's resource to be flowing too.
  • The Mórrigan's Guidance refunding a Wisp when Vivid Stampede ends is what makes chaining Stampedes back-to-back practical, rather than needing to walk another 30 metres from scratch every time.
  • Idolatry is a genuine trade-off on your equipment slots specifically: every Idol you equip helps Companions and Reservation Efficiency, but every non-Idol Augment you also equip costs Elemental Resistance — the node rewards committing to an Idol-heavy loadout rather than mixing freely.
  • Wild Protector's Bear Companion is exempt from the normal Companion limit, so it stacks on top of whatever Companions your other skills already summon rather than competing with them for a slot.
